I use these 2017 monthly calendar pages to quickly see each month at a glance. I love my Google Calendar that syncs from my phone to my computer, but I also like having printable calendars for easier planning.
For 2016, I used the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner. In general, I liked this planner. In fact, it was probably my favorite planner that I have purchased. But it also had things I didn’t use, like perforated shopping lists.
The weekly pages were nice for keeping track of my daily and weekly to-do lists, but the spaces for Saturday and Sunday were half the size of the other days of the week. I don’t know about you, but I usually have more on my to-do list for weekends than I do during the week.
For 2017, I am going back to using my own printable planner pages. Since I was making monthly calendars for the whole year, I thought other people might find them useful too.
One thing I don’t like about typical monthly calendars is how they will have the 30th and 31st of the month share a box with the previous week. I want to have the whole daily block available for each date.
For 2017, the months of April, July, and December need 6 rows to show the entire month, with each day getting it’s own box. So I gave those months 6 rows instead of the typical 5 rows. This means the boxes are slightly smaller for those months, but each day gets it’s own square.
I mainly use these monthly calendars to record school schedules, kids’ activities, and events we have committed to. I hole-punch the pages and keep them in a 3-prong folder near my computer. Then when my husband and I want to talk about vacation plans or taking a 3-day weekend, I can pull out these planner pages and see what we have already committed to at a glance.
I also added areas for notes in the extra spaces at the beginning and end of each month in the spaces not filled with calendar days. I use these areas for jotting down things I want to remember that month, but that haven’t been planned for a specific date yet. For example, if there is a museum exhibit my family wants to see, I may use the notes section to write the dates the exhibit will be available.
